A lot is there to learn from life and thought of Mahatma Gandhi; he was indeed a true saint of modern era. His words are eternal and once imbibed in life they start reflecting in our deeds. The sayings of Mahatma is resonating the world over. It’s not so easy to be or live a life like him but it is very easy to follow his footsteps of thoughts which he paved for the generations to follow. They will create a relishing effect, give tranquility and a great peace in the inner self… just follow him by giving some space in your mind and heart and think about his thought before any act…
1. For life learning lessons
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow; learn as if you were to live forever”
Nevertheless, it is so true and inspiring that while writing on today, I came across with the truth- what I have left behind, what should be extracted out and what is still impending for me in life today. Suddenly, I came across that the impending list has gone longer and was at a heavier side……! So, just gear up your senses and start working hard to achieve your goals- life is short you know and a lot has still to be done..! But do it with no baggage…!
After all said and done, I would like to mention a popular belief that- “we will not carry anything at the onset of our last journey” and how true it is. Why we carry so many things within ourselves when it has to be left behind finally? Eventually we leave behind what we spread and owe to this world. Let it go, set free and be a learner. It gives energy to keep moving. I am still a learning in the process and want to be known as a learner all the way through my journey.
2. For Self Respect
“Nobody can hurt me without my permission”
The most difficult thing in life is to understand the important of the person that is “you”. When you start believing in yourself, nothing can affect you in any way- be it anger, hurt, love, hatred or criticism. The simple mantra is be rooted and confident in your deeds and equally accept your failures or success with open mindedness. Try to be honest with yourself and surprisingly you will find yourself less affected by any kind of negativity.
3. For Inner Peace and Strength
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong”
Forgiveness is one of the most important characteristics of strong people. Although to forgive is not that easy as it sounds, but it a better way to deal with the stresses of your life. Believe me, whenever you try to forgive someone, you will start feeling better the moment, as if you have recovered from a dreaded disease…! Of course, you will have more strength, courage and will be at peace of your mind.
4. For the unrelenting Happiness
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”
All through these years, I have realized that people waste of a lot of energy and time dwindling upon the mundane matters. Life is not a crossword all the time. Sometimes it is better to leave “all the math and science” and just enjoy the “art” of life. Just believe the way you are without being deflected or influenced by all the “current affairs”. Spreading love and smile gives us joy and peace and this all we need after earning two meals at the end of the day. I do not want any amenities, I only crave for the peace within. Honestly, love the approach of being a “minimalist” as this gives me immense joy and leaves me free all the time.
5. For the change in you
“You must be the change you want to see in the world”.
Be the change, start believing in your dreams, open your eyes and get rid of the stones in your life. These stones can be your beliefs, perception, thoughts, and stigmas in any form. Start practicing by yourself about how and what you want to change in the society; it may be some most simple issues such as health and hygiene. Another icing on the cake-charity begins at home…!!!
Mahatma Gandhi was a mahatma in true terms, the world is acknowledging it so its your time to imbibe his thoughts.
